I made this recording as Vladimir Putin and the Russian army were invading Ukraine. Yet another colossal waste of human life and resources. And this after the U.S. spent 20 years in Afghanistan, accomplishing nothing, wasting trillions of dollars, wasting life, wasting opportunities. And that while any number of other wars were taking place. Ever read a Wikipedia article about a country? It's thousands of years of people killing people killing people.

So, is there any point in making experimental marimba music? More than ever, I believe "yes". Very few people listen to these recordings, but those who are do are sensitive, curious, open-minded and open-hearted. They deserve unique and colorful music. I'm not optimistic that people will ever stop killing people, but that's no reason to stop making creative music. I'm playing a fiddle while Rome burns, but Rome is always burning, so I might as well keep fiddling. Someone out there is listening, and needs the tunes.
